    Kyle E. Epps III is a Georgia native. He worked in law enforcement for 14 years, while also attending law school full-time. As a police officer, Mr. Epps was involved in thousands of criminal cases, and several hundred DUI cases. As an instructor at the police academy, he also trained hundreds of officers. He was also a member of the SWAT team, and later, a founding member of the Cobb County Gang Unit.

    Admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1996, he became a member of the United State District Court for the 11th Circuit. Mr. Epps is active in the Forsyth County Juvenile Court, and served as Judge Pro Tempore when requested by the Chief Judge.

    Attorney Epps attributes his achievements to spending his entire adult life involved in the criminal justice system. He focuses his practice on protecting the rights and futures of the criminally accused, working toward client goals, and always operating professionally and efficiently.

  • What is Blood Alcohol Content (BAC)?

    BAC refers to the amount of alcohol detected in the blood stream. A person’s BAC level can be measured in multiple ways, including by breath, blood, urine, or other chemical means. Some police officers may measure BAC by asking an individual to submit to a breathalyzer test or other type of chemical test that will quantify the amount of alcohol in the blood. The legal limit is .08% BAC, but for underage drivers, this legal limit may be much lower.

  • What is a sobriety test?

    Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) are types of tests that police officers use to determine if a driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. These tests are completely voluntary and a driver can politely refuse to take them at any time.
